# Trading accounts

Add, switch, and remove Hyperliquid, RISEx, Binance, Bybit, and OKX trading accounts in Proliquid

Trading accounts are the accounts Proliquid can use to place orders. Your Proliquid login, wallet, and exchange API accounts are separate layers.

See [Supported exchanges](/features/supported-exchanges.md) before connecting an account.

## Add an account

1. Open Terminal or go to Settings > Trading Accounts.
2. Choose Hyperliquid, RISEx, Binance, Bybit, or OKX.
3. Enter the requested wallet or API credentials.
4. Give the account a label so you can recognize it later.
5. Confirm the account and review the selected account in Terminal.

Hyperliquid and RISEx use a wallet connection and a local trading key. They do not use CEX API keys. See [Connect wallet](/getting-started/connect-wallet.md).

Binance, Bybit, and OKX use exchange API credentials. Create keys with trading permission only. Withdrawal permission is not needed.

## Select an account

The account selector shows the active exchange and account label. Switching accounts changes the venue used by Terminal and refreshes the account, balances, positions, orders, and available controls.

News quick trades have a separate account selection for each exchange in [News settings](/settings/news.md), so changing the Terminal account does not change the account used by News. Always check the account that will receive the order before submitting, especially after moving between exchanges or devices.

## Remove an account

Use Remove account from the account selector or Settings > Trading Accounts. Removing an account removes its local connection from the current device. You can add it again later.

Removing an account does not close positions, cancel open orders, or revoke permissions at the exchange. Review the exchange directly when you need to manage those actions.

## Browser and device safety

CEX API credentials stay in the browser used to connect the account. Treat that browser and device as a trading environment: use a trusted profile, avoid shared computers, and remove accounts before handing a device to someone else.

To move connected access to mobile, use [Link desktop to mobile](/getting-started/linking-desktop-to-mobile.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.proliquid.xyz/getting-started/trading-accounts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
